Visit the National Park Kirindy Mitea at region of Morondava with Baobab Cafe

National Park Kirindy Mitea is a recognized center of local endemism and diversity, related to the presence of habitats of southern and western Madagascar.

It has many attractions, the meeting of many ecosystems, all remarkable, and each having a flora and fauna are particularly rich.

The park was established December 18, 1997 by Decree No. 97 1453 and its management was entrusted to ANGAP (National Association for the Management of Protected Areas) in November 2000. It is included in the fivondronana (district) of Morondava and is located 90 km south of this city, between the maharivo river and Lampaolo, on the edge of the Mozambique Channel.

The Kirindy Mite National Park covers an area of 72,200 ha. Ranked by AP for existing conservation measures, it is classified as A strategy in the Plan GRAP (Threat Level Higher Biodiversity exceptional).
